Senior citizens make up 20% of those we serve at Second Harvest Community Food Bank. Senior citizens who after working hard to create the land of plenty, are ironically and tragically left with barely enough food to survive.

Through Second Harvest’s network of Partner Agencies such as food pantries, senior centers and on-site feeding programs, we are making sure that no one is left with out.

Second Harvest also nourishes seniors through Senior Boxes. A Senior Box contains 35 pounds of canned protein, juice, vegetables, fruit and cereal. Second Harvest provides 855 boxes full of nutritious food to seniors across Northwest Missouri. This is made possible through a partnership with the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
