Volunteer

Welcome to the Volunteer Experience! Second Harvest could not operate at full capacity without the thousands of hours our volunteers contribute. We welcome volunteers in every aspect of Second Harvest and our programs. We serve more than 15,000 individuals each week and distribute 500,000 pounds of food each month. This is only possible with our volunteers.

Become a Second Harvest Volunteer

Second-Harvest-volunteerWelcome to Second Harvest! We are excited that you are thinking of becoming a volunteer. Without our dedicated volunteers providing thousands of hours of donated time, Second Harvest could not run its operations.

Second Harvest provides a variety of volunteer opportunities because volunteers are a necessary part of every program we offer.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to offer their individual services without adult supervision, and adult supervisors must accompany volunteers ages 10 to 16 and must work beside the volunteer at all times. One adult supervisor is required for every seven volunteers ages 10 to 16. We are unable to accept court ordered community service volunteers, volunteers currently on probation, and volunteers younger than 10 years of age.

Please review the Food Safety Brochure prior to starting your shift.

Second Harvest relies on a full staff of volunteers to help us in all of our programs. Check out the options below to see where you can join the team! For more detailed information, please call us at 816.364.FOOD or contact us at info@ourcommunityfoodbank.org.
