Food Banks, Kansas Department of Agriculture Kick Off Food Drive

Kansas Governor, Sam Brownback, members of the agriculture community and the three food banks serving Kansas, gathered to start the Neighbor to Neighbor state wide food drive.

Kansas Governor

An aggressive goal of 100,000 meals was set to help nourish the 433,000 Kansans who struggle with hunger and food insecurity. This means, that 1 in 7 people who live in Kansas are at risk of losing a meal. These individuals turn to a food pantry network to help make ends meet when it comes to food. Food drives like this, help to keep food on the shelves of those agencies.

The food drive runs through March 25, with a grand total announced at the state capital in Topeka.

Those interested in making a donation can visit the Dillons store in Leavenworth (720 Eisenhower Road) or make an online donation here.
