What does your job consist of?  What do you do? Providing SNAP outreach- educating and providing pre-screening to clients. Linking and coordinating services throughout the community and with our local agencies.  Provide information and referral help to individuals and families, program staff and volunteers based upon a comprehensive understanding of food resources and other available benefits.  Responsible for remaining up-to-date with changes in SNAP and sharing this knowledge with local partners and Second Harvest staff.  Reduce barriers and continue to educate clients on the facts rather than myths and false information.  Reporting information and data to state and other agencies.

What is the best part of your job? Making things a little easier on each Member I work with.

Where are you from? I grew up in Lansing, KS., but have lived in St Joseph for 20 plus years.

Where did you go to school? Do you have any special training, etc? Missouri Western State University, I have a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with emphasis in Juvenile Delinquency and Administration. I have worked with a Psychologist for the last ten years, providing parent education, behavioral modification and acting as a liaison for families in special education.

Tell us about your family. I have two incredible children. Paden is 14 he loves to play hockey and build things. He participates in Special Olympics in various sports. My daughter is 9 and loves to dance, figure skate and do gymnastics.
